We visit the Windrush Exhibition

On Friday 20th March, a selection of Winterbourne girls attended The Windrush Generation Legacy Association Exhibition at the Whitgift Centre in Croydon.
The WGLA aims to empower, educate, and uplift the community through information, advice, guidance, seminars, workshops, art, culture and music events, heritage exhibitions and fairs, and activities highlighting the contributions of the 1948 Windrush Generation.
At the Exhibition, the girls met Mr Devon Malcolm. Devon Eugene Malcolm OBE is a Jamaican-born English former cricketer. Born in Kingston, Jamaica, Malcolm played in 40 Test matches and 10 One Day Internationals for the England cricket team. Mr Malcolm very kindly gifted our girls a signed cricket ball. It was a pleasure to meet him and to be a part of such a wonderful exhibition of history and culture.
