Students from Winterbourne Junior Girls’ School enjoyed an exciting visit to the Formula One headquarters yesterday, after securing first place in the final round of the British Council Learning Sector STEM Challenge.
The visit gave the girls an invaluable insight into the wide range of STEM careers available within Formula One. They also toured the company’s Digital and Media Centre, gaining a behind-the-scenes look at how Formula 1 operates. The girls were thrilled and inspired by the experience, finding the technology and innovation on display both fascinating and motivating. As part of the visit, the girls were interviewed by the British Council and BBC South, sharing what aspects of STEM and Formula One inspired them the most.
This achievement and our visit highlight our school’s commitment and our students’ dedication to STEM learning and their potential to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
