Dear Parents and Carers,

As you may be aware from the news, there has been a rare but serious breakout of Meningitis in Kent. Although there are no confirmed cases in Croydon at this time, we want to keep you all informed regarding symptoms and related information in case this changes.
Please read the attached letter from Public Health England and the Director of Education in Croydon as well as the other two attachments with further information. This is so that you are aware of symptoms and actions you can take if you or your children become ill but also how you can protect your child with immunisation.
This information has been shared with all staff so that they can be vigilant regarding our children’s well-being. We have digital thermometers in school and as always if we feel your child is unwell we will call you to take them home.
We have also asked our site team to ensure that there are plenty of tissues in all classrooms as well as the communal spaces such as the dining halls. Children will be frequently reminded that they should cough/sneeze into their sleeve if they don’t have a tissue at the time. As a result of all these measures, you do not need to keep your children home unless they are exhibiting the symptoms listed on the attached as follows:
