Year 3 Visit Wetland Centre

This week, as part of their Science topic on mini beasts, Year 3 children set off on a fabulous adventure of discovery at the fantastic London Wetland Centre.

The WWT London Wetland Centre is a 105-acre, award-winning nature reserve in Barnes, SW London, featuring lakes, reedbeds, and gardens. Opened in 2000 on former reservoirs, this urban oasis is a Site of Special Scientific Interest, supporting wildlife such as rare birds, otters, bats, and water voles, while offering visitors café facilities, hides, and adventure play areas.

Our girls took part in a fantastic nature trail to see how many mini beasts, insects and micro habitats they could find. It was an inspring day of exploration and a real in-depth introduction into the many different habitats of the many species of wildlife found at this magnificent venue.
